Your local RCT Liberal Democrats have had a busy start to 2025 - and lots of success!

Our great local members, Steven Rajam and Chris Barber, stood as candidates in the Community Council byelections in Brynna and Llanharry - and gained new voters for our party. Both won convincing second places and showed that we are standing up for local people!

And with the possibility of another byelection shortly in Brynna, Steven Rajam has again put himself forward, letting the council clerk know his intentions on the 3rd of March this year.

Winning Here!

RCT Liberal Democrats supported the successful campaign to save the much loved care home, Ferndale House. As well as lobbying the RCT Council, we also created a “Save Ferndale House” leaflet, which we delivered to many homes across the area. And, to further show our support for the cause, attended the march that took place in Ferndale. For further details click on the “Saved – Ferndale House” tab.

School Transport - The Fight Goes On

From September, secondary school aged children who live under 3 miles from the school will not be eligible for free school transport. This change will adversely impact learners. RCT Liberal Democrats continue to stand up for learners and support the campaign to overturn this cut.

Helping LibDems elsewhere

Further afield, in the lower Swansea Valley, RCT Liberal Democrats lend a hand in Pontardawe, writing envelopes and delivering letters, for the byelection on the 3rd of April.
